Super Fast Display

July 2004 - Tianma Microelectronics Co. launched its unique Super Fast Display (SFD) series of color displays modules to fill in the gap between the existing active color (TFT) and passive color (CSTN) technologies. The SFD modules boast virtually the faster moving images than any CSTN modules in the world (support full motion video without thin-film-transistors at up to 30 frames per second) and can be used in many different multimedia products, including mobile phones, media players, digital home appliances and security apparatus.

They share practically the same display quality as TFT modules, but with lower production costs, shorter lead times, and less power consumption. Current standard models include FD150 (1.5" of 128x128 res), FD185 (1.85" of 128x160 res), FD570 (5.7" of 320x240 res), and 2 small models with built-in CMOS cameras FD150C and FD185C.
